There’s bad news for thousands of commuters in Dublin 15 and the rest of the country as train drivers are expected to take a second day of industrial action in as many weeks.

More talks are taking place today in an attempt to avert strike action, however last night talks ended with no resolution.

Unions and management at Irish Rail have been at loggerheads over a row on pay and productivity that saw drivers walk off the job last month causing havoc around the country for 40,000 commuters.

Those from Clonsilla, Coolmine and Castleknock in Dublin 15, who use the Maynooth/Docklands service to get to work, school or college may have to use alternative ways of getting there, as there does not appear to be a deadlock breaker in sight.

There’s a warning that if work stoppages do take place that services would not operate between 6 and 9am and that rail tickets would NOT be valid on buses or other transport modes.
