Young at Heart
Phoenix FM is launching a new series about the
Blanchardstown Active Retirement group which plays an important role in the
life of the local Dublin 15 community. Through the project, members of the club
share information and stories starting from the 1970s when the small rural
village of Blanchardstown and surrounding areas contained less than 3,000
people to our days when Dublin 15 became fastest growing urban area in Ireland
with the population over 100,000.
Through captivating stories about Dublin 15 and the activities of the
group the listener will learn about local area as well as the importance of
social interaction and use of modern technology by all age groups.
This Programme is broadcast on 92.5 Phoenix FM on Thursdays at 11.30, starting on the 2nd of July, podcasts are available on www.phoenixfm.ie and iTunes. The project is supported by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland under the Sound and Vision scheme.

A new series of programmes starts Saturday 12th of June on 92.5 Phoenix FM.
The city is probably the last place you would expect to see an abundance of wildlife, but if you look closer… Aileen Foley in her series of programmes “Nature in the City” will discover different species of bat living in Dublin 15, reveal the intriguing world of beekeeping, explore allotments and much more!
“I really enjoyed making the programme, as I got to meet so many interesting people along the way and got to find out so many new things about where I live”, - says producer and presenter of the programme Aileen Foley.
Supported by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland under the Sound and Vision Scheme, the “Nature in the City” is produced to the highest standards of programme making.
“Nature in the City” goes on air on Saturday 12th of June at 5:30pm on 92.5 Phoenix FM (repeats on Sundays 7:30 pm).
