Phoenix FM brings home the Awards!

On Thursday the 26th of October Phoenix FM was present at the Craol Achievements Award ceremony in Athlone. Phoenix FM was nominated for ‘Irish Language Category – GOLD’ award for the show Aon Scéal and the ‘Social Benefit – News and Current Affairs’ award for the D15 Today show. Phoenix FM amazingly won both of these awards!


The ‘Irish Language Category – GOLD’ award was accepted by Gráinne Ui Chaomhanaigh who is the presenter of the winning show Aon Scéal, mentioned along with the award is Keith Bannister the editor of Aon Scéal.

The ‘Social Benefit – News and Current Affairs’ award was accepted by Seán Coogan and Carmelle Keane on behalf of all our amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly to make D15 Today the award winning show that it is.

Both of these awards also received the ‘Standout Submission’ award in these categories, ensuring that Phoenix FM brought home a fifth of the available ‘Standout Submission’ awards.

Phoenix FM board member Yetunde Joyce spoke at the plenary session.

Phoenix FM are also finalists for the ‘Not-for-Profit Organisation of the Year’ award in the Fingal Business Awards 2023 taking place in November. This award is to honour a nonprofit organisation that has made a significant positive impact on the community through its mission and initiatives.

Gráinne Ui Chaomhanaigh is also in the running for a couple of awards at An tOireachtas awards in Kerry.
