National Community Radio Day 2023

The 16th of June was National Community Radio Day. This year marks the 8th National Community Radio Day. It’s the day when CRAOL – Community Radio Ireland – and its member stations across Ireland celebrate and recognise the work and commitment of members, volunteers and staff involved in this diverse and grassroot sector of the media.

This year the host for the national Community Radio Day was Near FM who partnered with Pavee Point Traveller and the Roma Centre to celebrate our Traveller community with their special broadcast. Along with Near FM their sister community radio stations Flirt FM, Liffey Sound, Phoenix FM, Athlone Community Radio, Loughrea Community Radio and Claremorris Community Radio all joined in the celebration of National Community Radio Day.
